What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, fully sufficient and authoritative for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 19:7-11)

The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and coeternal. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 1:1-3)

The Deity of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, eternally begotten of the Father, incarnate by the Virgin Mary, and sinless in His life. (John 1:1, 1:23, 8:58, 10:30-33, 12:41; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8-10)

The Filioque
We affirm that the Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son. (John 15:26; John 16:7; Galatians 4:6)

Creation
We believe God created the heavens and the earth out of nothing by the word of His power in six literal days, and all was very good. (Genesis 1:1-31; Exodus 20:11; Hebrews 11:3)

Humanity and the Fall
We believe humanity was created in the image of God, yet through Adam’s disobedience, all have fallen into sin, bringing death and corruption to all creation. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3)

Original Sin
We believe Adam’s sin is imputed to all humanity, resulting in a state of guilt and corruption from birth. (Psalm 51:5; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3)

Justification by Faith Alone
We believe sinners are justified by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, apart from works of the law. (Romans 3:28; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16)

Imputed Righteousness
We believe the righteousness of Christ is imputed to believers, making them acceptable before God. (2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 4:5-6; Philippians 3:9)

Sanctification
We believe sanctification is a work of God’s grace, wherein believers are conformed to the image of Christ, enabled to die to sin, and live unto righteousness. (Romans 6:22; Philippians 2:12-13; 1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Good Works
We believe good works necessarily follow justification as the fruit of faith, evidencing the believer’s union with Christ. (James 2:17-18; Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 2:12-13)

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, consisting of all true believers, governed by Presbyterian polity, called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, and administer the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

Baptism
We believe baptism is a sacrament instituted by Christ, serving as a sign and seal of the covenant of grace. It signifies union with Christ, the washing away of sin, and entrance into the visible church. We practice infant baptism, affirming that the children of believers are included in the covenant community and marked as members of Christ’s Church. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38-39; Colossians 2:11-12; Galatians 3:27-29)

The Lord’s Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a sacrament instituted by Christ, in which bread and wine signify and seal the benefits of His atoning death to believers. While not the literal body and blood of Christ, the Lord’s Supper is a means of grace, through which Christ is spiritually present to His people by faith. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Paedocommunion
We believe baptized covenant children are admitted to the Lord’s Supper as part of their inclusion in the covenant community, recognizing their need for Christ and their belonging to His body. (Matthew 19:14; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; Acts 2:39)

Presuppositional Apologetics
We believe all reasoning begins with the acknowledgment of God’s revelation, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. (Proverbs 1:7; Romans 1:18-21; Colossians 2:3)

Postmillennialism
We believe the gospel will advance to bring about a time of great Christian influence and blessing before Christ’s return. (Psalm 22:27; Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 15:24-26)

Partial Preterism
We believe many prophecies in the New Testament, including those in Matthew 24 and Revelation, were fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, while affirming Christ’s future bodily return. (Matthew 24:34; Luke 21:20-22; Revelation 1:1-3)

Theonomic Ethics
We believe God’s law, as revealed in Scripture, provides a standard for moral behavior and civil governance. (Psalm 119:97-104; Matthew 5:17-19; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The Second Coming
We believe Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly at the end of history to judge the living and the dead. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Hebrews 9:28)

Final Judgment

We believe God will judge all humanity, consigning the unrepentant to hell and rewarding the faithful with eternal life. (Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

Physical Hell
We believe hell is a real, eternal place of conscious punishment for the wicked. (Mark 9:43-48; Matthew 10:28; Revelation 20:10)
